AFFOGATE
Step 1
Use an espresso machine or coffee maker that allows you to get a strong shot of coffee. Make sure it is freshly made and hot.
Step 2
In a glass or dessert cup, place a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream or your favorite gelato. You can chill the glass beforehand to keep the ice cream cold for longer.
Step 3

AMERICAN
Step 1
Use an espresso machine to make a shot (30 ml) of coffee. If you don't have a machine, you can use a moka pot or any method that allows you to make a strong, concentrated coffee.
Step 2
Boil water or heat it sufficiently (between 80-85°C). Avoid making it too hot so as not to burn the coffee flavor.
Step 3

CAPPUCCINO
Step 1
Make a shot of espresso using a coffee machine or moka pot. Pour it into a large mug.
Step 2
Heat the milk (do not boil it) and use a milk frother or steam wand to create a smooth, dense foam. If you don't have a frother, you can shake the milk in a sealed jar or heat it and whisk it vigorously until foamy.
Step 3
Once the espresso is ready, slowly pour it over the ice cream. Make sure to do this just before serving so that the contrast between the hot coffee and the cold ice cream is perfect.
In a large mug, first add the hot water. Then, pour the espresso shot over the water. Doing it in this order helps to better preserve the flavor of the coffee.
Pour the hot milk into the espresso cup, keeping some of the foam to pour over the top. Garnish with a little cocoa powder or cinnamon, if desired.
